Living History Sites

Programs and Guided Tours: Living history programs, including the Life of the Waxhaws Lantern Tour and the Andrew Jackson Birthday Celebration, are scheduled throughout the year. Please check our program listings for more information.

Museum/Visitor Centers

The museum contains Revolutionary War artifacts and artifacts related to President Jackson and contains exhibits that reveal the lifeways of South Carolina’s backcountry during the late 18th century. Discover the impact of the Revolutionary War on the local community. Gain an understanding of how being reared in this setting prepared Andrew Jackson to become our Seventh President. Museum Hours are Sa-Su 1 p.m.-5 p.m., M-F by appointment or when staff is available

Outdoor Activities

Biking

Andrew Jackson State Park offers paved roads for biking throughout the park.

Boating

Enjoy small craft boating on the 18-acre lake at Andrew Jackson State Park. Only private boats that can be hand-carried from the parking lot to the lake are allowed. 

Camping

Each site has individual water and electrical hookups. Five paved sites accommodate RVs up to 36 feet, while 20 gravel sites accommodate RVs up to 30 feet.

Fishing

Enjoy fishing for bass, bream, catfish and crappie in the 18-acre park lake. The bream in this lake are catch and release.

Geocaching

Join the hunt! Andrew Jackson State Park boasts several geocaches located throughout the park.

Hiking

Andrew Jackson State Park offers two, one-mile loop trails. Crawford Trail (1.1-mile loop) Garden of the Waxhaws Trail (1.0-mile loop)

Kayaking/Canoeing

Paddle around the 18-acre lake in your canoe or kayak. Observe the many migratory birds and other wildlife that use the lake.
