About 33 miles west of Charleston, you’ll find Parkers Ferry, S.C. — a small community with a big history. The Battle of Monmouth was one of the largest and hottest clashes of the American Revolution, where Continental and British forces fought to a fierce standstill in blistering heat, showcasing the growing strength and discipline of Washington’s post-Valley Forge army.
