Located on the Pennsylvania side of the Delaware River, this park commemorates Washington's planning of his famous crossing that re-ignited the spark of liberty.
Washington Crossing Historic Park, located in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, preserves the site where General George Washington and the Continental Army famously crossed the ice-choked Delaware River on the night of December 25–26, 1776. This daring maneuver led to the surprise attack and crucial American victory at the Battle of Trenton, revitalizing the Revolutionary cause during its bleakest period.
The park includes a visitor center, historic buildings such as McConkey’s Ferry Inn, and monuments commemorating the crossing. Designated a National Historic Landmark, the site hosts annual reenactments and educational programs that interpret the events of the Ten Crucial Days campaign and Washington’s leadership in one of the Revolution’s most pivotal moments.
