This tavern marked the turning point of Washington's advance against Henry Clinton's column. It was here that the order was given to Charles Lee to attack the next morning, June 28, 1778, thus commencing the Battle of Monmouth.

Liberty Hall was home to trailblazing governors, congressmen, senators, assembly persons, philanthropists, and entrepreneurs. Inhabited by William Livingston, New Jersey’s first elected governor and a signer of the United States Constitution, the 14-room Georgian-style home evolved over time into a 50-room Victorian mansion.

A formidable fortress on the banks of the Hudson and Lake Champlain, this stone bastion was the source of Henry Knox's artillery in the opening years of the Revolution. Today, it's a hallmark of living history with interpreters being found at every corner.

Completed in 1771, the Old Exchange Building is a Charleston landmark and the site of some of the most important events in South Carolina history. Over the last two and a half centuries, the building has been a commercial exchange, custom house, post office, city hall, military headquarters, and museum.

On October 16, 1777, British forces under John Vaughan attacked and burned much of Kingston, New York, then the state’s first capital. Though the raid caused widespread destruction and forced the New York government to flee, it ultimately did little to alter the course of the Revolutionary War.

Following the American Revolution, the Sentry Box served as the home for Hugh Mercer's family following his passing at the Battle of Princeton in 1777.

Built circa 1740, Hopsewee Plantation was one of the South’s major rice plantations and the birthplace of Thomas Lynch, Jr., one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence.

The Arnold Tavern, constructed in the mid-18th century, served as Washington's headquarters from January - May 1777

Fought on November 16, 1776, the Battle of Fort Washington marked the collapse of the last American stronghold on Manhattan during the New York Campaign. Surrounded and overwhelmed, the outnumbered garrison was forced into a surrender that dealt a heavy blow to the Continental Army’s position in the region.

The Battle of Monmouth took place on June 28, 1778, between the Continental Army and British forces, and is now preserved as Monmouth Battlefield State Park.

Chestnut Neck, occupied by Patriots until October of 1778, was a privateer outpost utilized as a staging point for planning and executing the capture of several British naval vessels.
