Once owned and operated by Founding Father Patrick Henry, it was while living in this home that Patrick Henry coined the phrase "Give me liberty or give me death!"
Scotchtown is the only remaining home of the Founding Father Patrick Henry. The property, itself, was acquired in 1958 and formally restored to its appearance during Henry's life by Preservation Virginia and now has reproduction outbuildings and gardens.
