Constitution Island was strategically vital during the Revolutionary War. It anchored the earliest American fortifications in the Hudson Highlands and helped secure Patriot control of the Hudson River.

Know Before You Go

Constitution Island is governed and administered by the U.S. Army through the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.  Constitution Island Association (CIA) is the local stewardship partner. This nonprofit organization works with West Point to maintain the historic Warner House, preserve artifacts, and run tours and educational programs.
