This home, now known as the "John Quincy Adams Birthplace," was John and Abigail Adams' residence during the Revolutionary War and was where Abigail gave birth to their second child, John Quincy Adams. While John served as a delegate to the Second Continental Congress in Philadelphia, Abigail managed this home and served as an advisor to her husband in his public role. In 1779, John drafted the Constitution of Massachusetts in his law office here.
The John Quincy Adams Birthplace is open seasonally. Interior access is by National Park Service-led guided tours or self-guided tours. An entrance pass is required to go inside the building.
