The Battle of Monmouth took place on June 28, 1778, between the Continental Army and British forces, and is now preserved as Monmouth Battlefield State Park.

Know Before You Go

Start your visit at the Monmouth Battlefield State Park’s visitor center, where you can learn about the Battle of Monmouth and the American Revolution through exhibits, artifacts, and informative displays. The center also includes a gift shop with books and themed items. Restrooms are available, and the park offers several self-guided hiking trails, picnic areas, and three preserved farmhouses from the time of the battle. Each June, the park hosts a reenactment of the battle, bringing history to life for visitors.
