The Arnold Tavern, constructed in the mid-18th century, served as Washington's headquarters from January - May 1777
The original structure of Arnold's Tavern was relocated and re-purposed as a hospital in the late 19th century. Unfortunately, the structure burned in 1918 and was never re-built. Today, one can visit the site of the former tavern, where Washington once issued orders and sent letters to the Continental Congress.
