Event Description

Living historians will fill the battlefield portraying soldiers from the American Revolution, War of 1812, Civil War, as well as World War I and II. They will be joined by modern military units sharing their stories and equipment. They will offer a small glimpse into the world of military equipment and the soldiers that carried them. Throughout the day, we will be offering 18th and 19th century musket and cannon demonstrations.

They will be joined by the Tryon Palace Fife and Drum Corps, who will be presenting colonial music demonstrations in the battlefield at 11 am and 1 pm.

In addition, Dr. Kimberly Sherman from Cape Fear Community College will be presenting a program on why the Highland Scots chose the sides that they did leading up to the Battle of Moores Creek Bridge. That program will take place at 11 am in Patriot's Hall.

Additionally, we will have the reading of "I am the Infantry," a special poem highlighting the history of the infantry. That will take place at 2:00 pm in the battlefield.

A full schedule of events will be posted soon.
