Liberty Hall

Liberty Hall was home to trailblazing governors, congressmen, senators, assembly persons, philanthropists, and entrepreneurs. Inhabited by William Livingston, New Jersey’s first elected governor and a signer of the United States Constitution, the 14-room Georgian-style home evolved over time into a 50-room Victorian mansion.

Know Before You Go

Take a guided tour with knowledgeable museum educators and hear the fascinating stories and legends that make Liberty Hall one of New Jersey’s most treasured historic homes. Explore the exquisite arboretum and gardens, which highlight an artistic array of historical horticulture, including some of New Jersey’s oldest trees.

Please note that the walkways on the Liberty Hall property are gravel, and the mansion is not ADA-compliant. Thanks to a grant from the NJ Historic Trust, we are working to make it ADA-compliant.
