Green End Fort in Middletown, Rhode Island, is one of the most intact surviving Revolutionary War earthworks on Aquidneck Island, significant for its role in both the 1778 British defenses during the Siege of Newport and its later transformation into a French redoubt under Rochambeau in 1780. It is one of the few places where you can still physically see the contours of a Revolutionary War fortification.
