Biography
Despite the prominent role Cornwallis played in the Revolution, Henry Clinton was blamed for the loss of the American colonies following the surrender at Yorktown.
Biography
William Woodford (1734–1780) was a Virginia soldier who made his mark early in the Revolution, leading the 2nd Virginia Regiment to victory at Great Bridge. A seasoned fighter, he battled at Brandywine and Monmouth, but was captured at Charleston. Woodford tragically died in British captivity aboard a prison ship.
Biography
Robert Mursh, a Pamunkey Indian and Continental Army soldier, fought in key Revolutionary War battles and later became a Christian pastor in South Carolina, with his service documented in his 1820 pension application.
Biography
A British officer, Pitcairn led troops at Lexington and Concord, then commanded a reserve force at Bunker Hill. He was wounded multiple times during the battle and died later from his injuries.
